Food For Thought

Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all your getting, get understanding. – Proverbs 4:7

I see and silently observe a lot in these dark days. I notice the trends of both our vernacular and the shift in the thoughts of this day. Meaning, people say “Universe” instead of God, “Energy” instead of spirit, “Manifest” instead of pray, and “Partner” (accommodating this homosexual lifestyle stuff) instead of husband, wife, or mate or spouse. I understand that dialect changes over time, but some of these changes are contrived. We must be watchful of all of these sly alterations that we think nothing of and utilize. The scriptures even provide statements that he’s appointed some to bring these things to the church’s attention regarding these things (Ephesians 4:11-14; John 8:12).

For this cause, I repost this book once again. I thought on today of how one of the going things of this day is to abstain from meat. It’s no sin if one chooses to do so, but we must be knowledgeable regarding the trends of the day when they arise. When something becomes a trend, I automatically become alarmed. The scriptures say,

Now the Spirit speaks expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats . . . I Timothy 4:1-3

People abstain from meats for its health benefits, and I have no discrepancy. I agree to an extent because I too am familiar with the benefit I personally experienced with a vegetarian diet for a while. However, as provided in this author’s professional study and experience, meat has its spiritual significance or benefit, being that we are a three-part being, consisting of body, soul, and spirit.

She doesn’t go here in the scriptures, but God told Noah: “Every moving thing that lives shall be meat for you; even as the green herb have I given you all things” (Genesis 9:3). There is a significant and tremendous difference between the state of Adam while in the garden of Eden and now Noah when God makes a covenant with him after the flood. The difference was so tremendous that there was a need to change his diet.

This book shines light on this abstaining from meat business, in which the word of God forewarns believers, and all of these doctrines of devils or practices of today of witchcraft that people casually do, accept, and embrace in this day.
