“The LORD by wisdom hath founded the earth; by understanding hath he established the heavens” (Proverbs 3:19.
I like this author. He is very knowledgeable. The information found in this title intrigued me. In this composition entitled Number In Scripture, E.W. Bullinger points out numbers’ supernatural design and spiritual significance. And, honestly, beforehand, occasionally, I thought nothing concerning numbers other than them being a matter of sequence or numbering things. However, numbers are more.
I used to wonder about Mathematicians, so I did acknowledge that numbers held significance. It has been said that numbers are a universal language. So, that would occasionally cause me to ponder and wonder what these mathematicians see, know, and understand that I don’t.
The first part of this book is what blew me away. It took me a while to purchase this title because I was skeptical if numbers even have any meaningful sense. I thought the author was looking too hard into something, so I often perused over purchasing this title. But I was mistaken. The author spends the first part of this title simply pointing out number recurring designs in anatomy, music, botany, this, and that. In all of these different studies, numbers are intentionally woven together in some pattern. Man, I said, “Oh.” He showed how the Creator placed a specific, intelligent design throughout all his creations. He establishes the case that numbers, in fact, do hold significance and are meaningful before he even takes the reader’s attention to the scriptures. Blown. Away.
